Perfect Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Perfect Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

12-16 oz Cranberries - fresh or frozen
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Cup Cranberry Juice
1 Tbs Fresh Grated Orange Zest
Kosher Salt to taste

Preparation:
  1. Place ½ cup of the cranberries in a small bowl and set aside until needed
  2. Place the remaining cranberries, sugar, cranberry juice, and orange zest in a small/medium pan and set over low heat
  3. Allow to cook (stirring occasionally) until the sugar has dissolved and the cranberries are nice and soft (apx 10 minutes)
  4. Increase heat to medium and continue to cook (stirring frequently) until the cranberries burst (apx 12 minutes more)
  5. Reduce heat to low - Add the reserved ½ cup of cranberries and stir to combine
  6. Adjust seasoning with kosher salt an additional sugar if needed - Allow to cook for 3-5 minutes to just barely soften the reserved cranberries
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and allow to cool to room temperature before serving or served chilled
